Some pictures of the buck that I built to create the aluminum body. The buck was built on an authentic style chassis. The use of a rolling chassis under the buck was true to the approach used in the construction of the original cars. The chassis allowed suspension, wheels, engine and other components to be fit to the buck to ensure accurate placement. The buck was modeled after photos of the original that Pete Brock and Jim Olsen made at Shelby American's shop.
The windshield was one of the most crucial pieces of hardware in the construction. Metal can be cut and shaped but glass is a different story. The car was literally built around an authentic reproduction of the original size windshield.
